Welcome To Total Academy

The inspiration for Total Academy Nursery & Primary School came in 2008 when the Board- of-Directors saw the need to establish a world-class institution that would deliver educational best practice to an average Nigerian child without depriving any child the right to face any head-on challenges that could be encountered in their journey to becoming scholars. The directors envisioned a school based on the Nigerian/British educational philosophy, which strives to develop pupils’ intellectual, artistic and practical skills in an integrated and holistic manner, so as to bring up a well-rounded child who can speak out in the society at large.

By September, 2011, a school was born at Karu-site in Abuja Municipal Area Council.Opened with fully equipped classrooms, with state-of-the-art facilities for teaching-learning activities. The library, laboratories, playground and all other facilities that support extra-curricular activities were readily available.
The first members of staff were Mrs. Nimi David West (the pioneer Head of school), Mrs. Nkiruka Okoli(the pioneer School Administrator) Mrs. Margaret Onyeke, Miss Idolor, Miss Chinyere, Mr. Gabriel..

OUR MISSION

1. A vibrant, creative and disciplined educational community, where every child is inspired to make the best choices and be the best at whatever he/she sets out to do.
2. A welcoming, happy, safe, and supportive learning environment in which everyone is equal and all achievements are celebrated.
3. A positive, safe and stimulating child-friendly environment for children to learn, where all are valued. We intend that all children should enjoy their learning, achieve their potential and become independent life-long learners.
4. A safe haven where everyone is valued and respected. All staff members, in partnership with parents and families are fully committed to students’ college and career readiness. Students are empowered to meet current and future challenges to develop social awareness, civic responsibility and personal growth.

BEHAVIOUR

Children will be helped to exhibit self-control and self-discipline by a firm but loving discipline policy. Our rules are few, simple, and are upheld by all the staff. We want to create an environment that encourages children to respect and understand the needs of others.

Good behaviour is rewarded in a variety of ways and children who have difficulty in accepting rules are helped through carefully structured programmes. Parents are involved as early as possible if a child shows signs of persistent behavioural challenges

Ethos

Ethos

We ensure that pupils/students in our care enjoy a broad curriculum, carefully structured to meet their individual, physical, moral and mental needs. We create a secure, happy, lively and caring atmosphere which is necessary for a healthy learning to take place. We believe first-hand experience is very important; so we make good use of carefully planned visits to places which have the capacity to help expand our pupils/students’ experiences. We aspire to forge strong bonds between home and school; by welcoming parents into assemblies, regular conferences and by holding evenings for parents and teachers to meet for social and educational purposes.
